I love teaching and researching new ideas to use in the classroom. My goal is to create an online professional presence where I can document my teaching experiences and share resources.
For me, teaching is the profession that inspires other professions. If we look back on our lives, some of us may find numerous teachers, parents, coaches, or other adults in some teaching capacity that have inspired us and our choices to pursue the career path we are excited about. Others may only find one or two teachers that have sparked the fire within us to follow our dreams. No matter the number of influences in our lives, we can peer into the past and remember a moment when we decided our passion and calling in life. From a young age, I knew I was being called into the education profession. I also had a love of language and literature, which I pursued in college and earned an English degree. During my Master's program, I was able to solidify my future because I knew, without a doubt, I was exactly where I was supposed to be; in a classroom inspiring the children of the next generation. Students deserve to have an educator that is dedicated and invested in their future. It is more important now than ever before because we are surrounded by a crumbling economy, a dichotomy between the well-off and the less fortunate, and the fact that we, as individuals, are responsible for our future happiness and success. The leaders of tomorrow should be provided with the tools and skills they need to succeed in a society that changes constantly.
